Bear Root Gardens is owned and operated by Kate and Pat Joslin along with their two daughters. They produce a range of locally adapted vegetable seeds, all organically grown, on their property right in the heart of Verona, ON. Locally adapted seeds are important for producing and sustaining strong yields that tolerate the local climate and are often more resistant to local pests and diseases. All of the seeds they sell are grown and hand packaged by them on their property. If interested in purchasing seeds, please view the catalog below or browse the varieties and email them at firstname.lastname@example.org to arrange payment and shipping or delivery.
Bear Root Gardens is proud to be partnering with the Queen's Urban Agriculture & Sustainability Hub (SQUASH) club at Queen's University this growing season. They aim to provide education and implementation of urban agriculture practices. We will be providing them with the seeds to grow gardens both at the Grocery Basket roof top and on Queen's campus. We will also be working on a fall workshop. Stay tuned.
