Calendula, cosmos, zinnia and straw flower are best started indoors 2 to 4 weeks before expected last frost and transplanted out after threat of frost as past. Sunflowers can be direct seeded late April to mid May. Space transplants around 12" apart to get maximum plant size. Zinnia plants can be made more bush like by removing the main terminal bud. Flower packages come with approximately 25 seeds in each (straw flower 50 seeds).
